Fit is the single most important factor in how a bridal dress looks. A couture-level Pakistani bridal dress that does not fit correctly loses most of its impact — the embroidery bunches, the neckline gaps, the silhouette is off. Getting the measurements right before you order is what separates a beautiful dress from the right dress.
This guide covers everything you need to know about sizing, measurements, and custom stitching for Pakistani bridal dresses.
Why Standard Sizing Does Not Work for Bridal
Pakistani bridal dresses do not follow a standardised sizing system. A "medium" from one designer can be significantly different from a "medium" from another — and even within the same brand, sizing can shift between collections. For heavily embroidered bridal pieces, the bodice, waist, and hem all need to sit precisely to show the embellishment correctly.
Custom stitching solves this entirely. Every bridal dress is cut and stitched to your exact four measurements before it ships — no standard sizing, no approximations.
The Four Measurements You Need
1. Chest (Bust)
Measure at the fullest point of your chest — usually across the nipple line. Keep the tape parallel to the floor and your arms relaxed at your sides. Do not pull the tape tight; it should sit snugly but not compress. This is the most critical measurement for how the bodice fits.
2. Waist
Measure at the narrowest point of your natural waist — usually 2–3 inches above your navel. Stand naturally, breathe out gently, and measure at that point. Do not hold your breath in or suck in — measure your actual waist, not your aspirational one. The kameez waist seam is cut from this measurement.
3. Hips
Measure at the fullest point of your hips and seat — usually 7–9 inches below your natural waist. Keep the tape parallel to the floor. This measurement determines how the lower portion of the dress sits and whether the lehenga or sharara moves correctly.
4. Height
Measure from the top of your head to the floor without shoes. Stand against a wall for accuracy. Height determines the length of the kameez, the trouser or lehenga hem, and the dupatta proportions. For tall and petite women, this is particularly important — a standard-length hem can look completely different on a 5'2" versus a 5'8" woman.
Fit Preferences to Mention
Alongside your measurements, let us know:
- Bodice fit — fitted (close to the body), standard, or relaxed
- Sleeve length — full length, three-quarter, elbow, or short
- Kameez length — if you have a specific preference (floor-length, knee-length, etc.)
- Dupatta style — how you prefer to drape it affects the hemming
Share these preferences via WhatsApp when you send your measurements.
Timeline for Bridal Orders
Order at least 6–8 weeks before your event. This allows time for custom stitching and delivery within 7–29 business days. For international brides — in the USA, Canada, UAE, or Australia — factor in international transit time and order as early as possible.
If your wedding date is less than 6 weeks away, WhatsApp us before ordering. We will confirm whether express options are available for your specific dress and advise on exact timelines.
